Competitive Pay & Benefits:

  • Average Pay: $1,808 per week ($94,016/year)
  • Start at: .64 cpm
  • Unloading Pay: $0.185 per case, averaging $555/week
  • Retail Route Incentive: $15 per tote return pick up (totes hold the small merchandise)
  • Company sponsored per diem program

Home Weekly:

  • Dispatches Sunday afternoon through Monday noon
  • Sunday dispatch drivers return home on Friday, Monday dispatch drivers return Friday evening or Saturday morning

Route Details:

  • Pick up pre-loaded trailers in Lebanon, TN, and deliver merchandise (not food) to Cracker Barrel stores in 23 states: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV
  • Average 1,960 miles per week
  • Drivers typically run 2 routes per week
  • Runs vary throughout the week
  • Merchandise is separated by a bulkhead for easy unloading (freight isn’t mixed together)
  • Drivers will unload using a ramp and two-wheel freight into the customer’s storeroom (most stops take 1+ hours)

Training & Support:

  • New drivers will ride with a dedicated Averitt driver for the first week to learn the customer’s processes and procedures. Paid at $1,000 for the first week only
  • During slower months (January – July), if not needed on this account, you’ll be reassigned to another dedicated account to maintain weekly work

Job Requirements
  • Must live within a 100-mile radius
  • Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years, including 6 months of OTR experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must hold a valid Class A CDL
  • No reckless driving convictions in the last 5 years
  • No DUI convictions in the last 5 years
  • No license suspensions or revocations in the last 5 years
  • No serious moving violations in the last 12 months (e.g., 15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, fatal accidents involving a CMV)
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • No preventable DOT-recordable accidents in the last 3 years

Essential functions:

  • Load freight – lift requirement: 80 lbs
  • Unload freight – lift requirement: 80 lbs
  • Move freight – force requirement: 54 lbs
  • Open/Close Trailer Doors – force requirement: 46 lbs
  • Count freight
  • Complete fuel tickets
  • Obtain sales leads
  • Hook/Unhook trailer – force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
  • Perform pre-trip inspections
  • Drive
  • Regular predictable attendance
  • Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
  • Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
